2020 Summer Session

We value our community and are committed to keep our students and staff healthy. We have scheduled the start of our summer for Monday, June 22. We will be following all the VA Department of Health Guidelines for our modified summer session.

Brainiacs offers fun and educational programs all summer long. We offer a great mix of programs for kids in Preschool and up in a safe, nurturing environment with an well-trained, outstanding staff.

Sample Schedule:

  • 7:00a-9:00a: AM Extended Care
  • 8:50a-9:15a: Curbside Service (Student Check in/Health Checks)
  • 9:15a: Instruction Begins
  • 10:30a: Snack Break/Outside Time
  • 11:00a: Hands-On Learning
  • 12:00p: Lunch Time
  • 1:00p: Hands-On Learning
  • 2:30: Snack Break/Outside Time
  • 3:00p: Project Based Learning
  • 4:00p: Curbside Service (Student Check Out)
  • 4:00p-6:00p: PM Extended Care

What do campers need to bring?

  • Packed Nut Free Lunch & Snacks (ALL trash and items will be sent home daily)
  • Sneakers
  • Comfortable Weather Appropriate Clothing
  • Water Bottle (to be sent home DAILY for cleaning)
  • NO PERSONAL ITEMS will be permitted.

NEW COVID-19 Protocols:

  • Curbside Drop off/Pick up of all Students
  • Daily Health Checks-Temperature Checks and Health Questionnaire Upon Arrival
  • Staff and Students will sanitize hands upon arrival and several times throughout the day
  • No rotating classrooms or mixing of groups
  • Small Class Sizes (8 or less)
  • No shared supplies (each child will be given own set of supplies to go home with them at the end of the week or sanitized- this includes, crayons, scissors etc)
  • All classroom items will be sanitized thoroughly several times throughout the day
  • All students will pack 2 snacks and lunch-all trash and items will be sent home daily to limit exposure
  • Staff will wear masks, Students under 10 may choose to wear masks but will not be required. If parents choose to send student in a mask, staff will encourage and support this decision.
  • Updated Sick Policy- Any student with COVID-19 symptoms will be required to stay home for 72 hours.
  • No personal electronics or items allowed.
  • No Walk-INs or tours permitted-all tours should be scheduled with manager and will be after hours
